APR 13, 2005 (newstodate): Icelandair has utilised its options for five new Boeing 737-800 aircraft and turned them into confirmed orders, valued around USD332 million at list prices.
The carrier inked the options when buying 10 similar aircraft earlier this year.
Boeing will deliver the five new aircraft in 2007, while deliveries from the January order will occur next year.
As with the previous order, The FL Group, Icelandair's parent company, will lease the aircraft to other carriers outside of Iceland, and the company says the contract for the lease of the first five Boeing 737-800 is now in its final stages with a foreign operator.
