APR 13, 2005 (newstodate): DFDS Transport, a company in the Danish DSV Group, keeps a close watch on business options in Europe.
-Our position in the German market has been secured as to surface transportation, but there is still an uptapped potential as to air and sea cargo so we are watching the market for a suitable acquisition to bolster our presence, says Peter Larsen, DFDS vice president.
Spain and Italy also remain on the short-list for expansion through acquisitions when opportunities emerge.
-We are of course also watching the markets within the new enlarged EU and the candidate member countries like e.g. Bulgaria and Romania where positioning for future growth potentials is important while the current markets are still limited in size and volumes, he says.
