APR 29, 2005 (newstodate): Boeing is prepared to invest 2.5-3 billion USD in Russia's aircraft industry over the next five years, sources say.
The pledge was presented at a meeting between Boeing VP Michael Cave, Russian Dep Industry Minister Andrei Reus, and the head of the defense industry department.
Between 1991 and 2001 Boeing invested 1.3 billion USD in Russias aircraft industry, while another one billion was invested between 2001 and 2005.
Boeing currently has about 1,000 Russian aircraft professionals working on the 787 Dreamliner project, and the Boeing VP said more Russian jobs would emerge in connection with new Boeing projects.
