APR 07, 2005 (newstodate): TransCaribbean Airways, new Carribean airline based in Curacao, the Dutch Antilles, is negotiating with Airbus over the acquisition of five Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
-These aircraft will primarily be used on routes connecting our hub with destinations in the USA, says Al Menconi, TransCaribbean Airways CEO.
The carrier intends to lease a yet-unannounced number of Airbus A330-200 aircraft to be operated on its routes between its Caribbean hub and destinations in Europe.
The carrier plans to get airborne from late this summer, in time for the busy winter season.
