APR 25, 2005 (newstodate): The first flight of the Airbus A380 will take place this week.
The company's press department has informed the trade press of the event and opened a special facility on the internet dedicated to on-time video coverage of the inaugural flight.
In the meantime, the first Singapore Airlines A380 is taking shape at the final assembly line in the Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse, France with the installation of the tail fin measuring 14.1 metres high and 12.9 metres wide.
Singapore Airlines will be the first airline in the world to put the Airbus A380 into commercial operations in 2006.
The Airline placed an order for 25 A380 aircraft, including 10 firm orders and 15 options, in September 2000.
