MAR 16, 2005 (newstodate): Ukraine International Airlines has named Globe Air Cargo its exclusive worldwide cargo GSA.
Under the contract, Globe will exclusively sell the airline's cargo capacity on all of its passenger and all-cargo flights into Kiev.
UIA operates 150 scheduled flights a week linking Kiev with Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Berlin, Copenhagen, Donetsk, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Kuwait, Lisbon, London, Lviv, Madrid, Odessa, Paris, Rome, Simferopol, Tripoli, Vienna and Zurich using a fleet of Boeing 737-300, -400s and -500 aircraft with a payload per flight of up to 1,500 kilos.
In addition to bellyhold cargo, UIA operates AN-12 freighter services. Three flights a week operate on the route Kiev-Vienna-Kiev, in cooperation with Austrian Airlines Cargo offering 16,000 kilos capacity, while Amsterdam is served weekly, generating the potential to uplift 14,000 kilos of freight.
