MAR 29, 2005 (newstodate): As a cost-cutting measure, SAS has decided to consolidate all activities in the South East Asia under one area manager to be based at Singapore.
The new structure will be implemented by April or May, replacing the current division between the carrier's Bangkok and Singapore area managers.
The new office will comprise SAS' activities in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, Indochina, Taiwan, and the Philippines, and is expected to reduce sales costs by 20 percent.
The airline's Asia-Pacific regional management will remain in Bangkok.
