MAR 08, 2005 (newstodate): Russian carrier Polet Airline will receive its first Boeing 767-200 in April this year.
The airline will reportedly use the aircraft on a new route to New Yoek Newark Airport, USA, not originating in Russia, but in Shannon, Ireland.
The aircraft is taken on a lease arrangement with IFLC, and will be operated in a cooperation with Skynet Airlines that has also announced plans to operate from Shannon to St Petersburg and Moscow, feeding traffic between Russia and the North Atlantic route.
Shannon has been selected at the hub as Ireland is the only country in Europe whith US immigration pre-clearance.
