MAR 30, 2005 (newstodate): Icelandair Cargo has extended its wetlease of an AirRep Tu204-100C freighter until the end of May 2005.
Since October 2004, the aircraft has been operating up to five weekly scheduled rotations between Keflavik, Liege and the UK.
The AirRep aircraft is providing interim additional maindeck capacity until Icelandair Cargo takes delivery of its third B757F, now due to enter service in June 2005.
The AirRep lease replaced an earlier block-space agreement with another scheduled carrier between Keflavik and the UK.
The AirRep Tu204F aircraft is currently operating a circular routing Liege-Keflavik-Humberside-Liege three times per week, with additional flights when required.
Flights from Iceland mostly carry fresh fish, while return flights uplift general cargo and perishables. Icelandair Cargo has also used the AirRep aircraft for ad-hoc flights between Liege and Keflavik.
