MAR 18, 2005 (newstodate): CASS Nordic is currently performing a feasibility study to assess the situation in the Baltic markets.
-We are currently surveying the markets of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to see if implementation of CASS would add benefits to the operators in the markets, says Ulla Nilson, CASS Nordic.
If warranted by the market survey, a report will be delivered to CASS Policy Group, which will then decide on whether to include the Baltic markets in CASS Nordic's settlement system.
-The main criteria are not just the size of the markets, but rather considerations of the infrastructure including the current procedures between airlines, GSAs and freight forwarders. In the end implementation of CASS should add economic benefits to the operators, but settlement via CASS also entails other benefits including legal and representative strongpoints, she says.
