MAR 11, 2005 (newstodate): Bulgaria Air seems to have emerged from turbulent headwinds after having reached an agreement with its pilots.
Pilot demands for wage increases running into more than 60 percent forced negotiations into a stalemate, culminating in threats of a general pilot strike and the sacking last week of 15 pilots as the management rolled back the business plan for 2005.
The parties have now succesfully concluded their talks, and the sacked pilots have been reinstated.
The airline will now probably reconfirm its business plan for 2005 including the operations of a total of nine Boeing 737 aircraft rather than the five in the reduced program that led to pilot redundancy.
