FEB 01, 2005 (newstodate): The government of Albania has now taken the next step in privatising Tirana Mother Theresa Airport.
Tirana Airport Partners, the company organised under the laws of Albania for the purpose of entering into the Concession Agreement with the GoA and managed by Hochtief, has opened an international tender for consession to manage the airport.
The project comprises the design, finance, construction, commission, maintenance, operation, management and development of the airport on a concession basis granted by the Government of Albania.
The succesful bidder is required to invest in a new terminal, a new cargo centre, new apron, new infrastructures, security and a general update of the existing facilities.
The project is supported by EBRD that has granted a eur 33.9 million Senior Debt Facility.
