FEB 21, 2005 (newstodate): As part of the reorganisation of Serbian carrier JAT, now under government-appointed interim management, the airline company is to be split into two entities.
One will be the public company Yugoslav Airlines JAT, focussing on air transportation, and the other will be Belgrade Airport that will get a management of its own.
The law, passed by the government on Thursay last week, aims at securing better business results, credit possibilities, and new investment projects for Belgrade Airport.
The corporatisation of Belgrade Airport will also facilitate its admission to various European airport organisations and systems.
