FEB 04, 2005 (newstodate): The new Berlin International Airport, currently being designed, may target the China-Europe traffic expected to boom.
The airport is considering building a terminal dedicated to the China traffic, and may even seek Chinese investors for this purpose.
The Berlin Airports' managing director told press that Berlin is one hour's flying time closer to Beijing than other destinations
such as Paris and Amsterdam, and says that this could save airlines three or four million euros a year.
The annual volume of Chinese visitors to Europe is estimated to be around 60 million in only a few years' time.
