FEB 07, 2005 (newstodate): Within a few months British Airways World Cargo will complete a major assesment of the European Shorthaul Freighter program before possibly announcing new expansions from the coming summer program.
-We are obviously very happy with the performance so far of the shorthaul freighter program and are now considering to expand it to comprise more markets, says Tony Nothman, BAWC VP UK, Europe and African Continent.
-We do see a particularly strong increase in the countries that joined the EU in May last year, notably Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, and these markets are increasingly in our focus. But it is still too early to say which way to go to further develop our service to customers there, he says.
-Our European Shorthaul Freighter program is a good vehicle to develop markets further, but it is crucial to asses where best to invest capacity to optimise the business, says Mr Nothman.
