FEB 07, 2005 (newstodate): During the third quarter from 1 October to 31 December 2004, British Airways World Cargo saw volumes overtaking capacity increase by a large margin.
There was a 1.7 percent increase in capacity, while flown volumes grew by 8.1 percent in comparison to the same quarter last year.
This upped the overall load factor by 3.9 percentage points.
Cargo sales reached GBP134.4 million, up 12.5 percent excluding the impact of exchange rates, or 6.3 percent including the exchange rate movements.
Still, yields were down 1.6 percent, primarily due to the effects of the exchange rate.
