FEB 02, 2005 (newstodate): Ukrainean airline Aerosvit saw its cargo volumes significantly up in 2004.
-Aerosvit generated a total of 5,549 tonnes of air cargo in 2004, an increase by 167 percent over the volume, 2,077, carried in 2003, says Olga Tymchenko, Aerosvit mass media coordinator.
Aerosvit currently operates a fleet of eight Boeing 737 and two Boeing 767, and plans to lease two more Boeing 737 and one Boeing 767 aircraft later this year in order to match the increasing demands for a ir transportation in the country.
AeroSvit is a private corporation with 62 percent of shares belonging to Ukrainian shareholders, including 22 percent held by the State Property Fund of Ukraine and 40 percent by CJSC Aerotour. The remaining 38 percent are owned by Dutch firm Gilward Investments.
