Dec 16, 2005 (newstodate): With effect from January 1, 2006, NordicGSA will represent Turkish Airlines Cargo in the Danish and Norwegian markets.
The cargo GSA already serves Turkish Airlines Cargo in Sweden and Finland since 2002.
-Sweden remains the single largest cargo market in the Nordics, and this of course reflects itsels in sales on THY as well, with telecom providers as Ericsson as a prime driver, says Jonas Drewsen, NordicGSA managing director.
-Finland is a strong market, too, also driven by telecom industries. And from early next year, Turkish Airlines will become online in Finland, too, with two weekly Boeing 737 services, as has long been the case with Stockholm and Copenhagen, while Oslo has been served since this summer, he says.
-There is a strong Turkish ethnic community in Denmark, and trade between Turkey and Denmark is big and increasing. So we are confident that backed by our intimate Nordic experience with the carrier we will be in a position to further tap the potentials of Turkish Airlines Cargo in the market, says Mr Drewsen.
