Dec 12, 2005 (newstodate): Stockholm Skavsta Airport expects little change in this year's total cargo volumes against preceding years.
The airport earlier generated significant volumes of freighter charter traffic, but this has declined during the recent years.
-While we do have some ad-hoc charter operations, our main business is cargo trucking, says Dag Berglov, Skavsta Airport cargo manager.
-In 2005 we have seen volumes rather steady, with growth during the first part of the year followed by a quiet autumn period. So we will end up with volumes around 13-14,000 tonnes as last year.
-I do not consider this satisfactory and remain convinced that potentials are much bigger, considering our location close to the Swedish capital and major Swedish key industries. So we will start implementing a strategy for the next years, marked by more aggressive marketing of Stockholm Skavsta Airport as an attractive and efficient cargo airport, says Mr Berglov.
