Dec 7, 2005 (newstodate): Aeroflot has now officially signed the deal with Sukhoi for delivery of 30 RRJs, the first of which will be delivered in November, 2008.
The participation in the development of the RRJ by Boeing, Snecma, Thales, Messier Dowty, Liebherr Aerospace, and Honeywell may pave the way for the aircraft's entry into the Western markets, and Sukhoi's expectations range as high as some 800 aircraft sold outside Russia by 2023.
To be built in three versions, the RRJ will take 80 to 95 passengers on flights over 5,000 km.
