Dec 15, 2005 (newstodate): North American Airlines confirms to newstodate that it is planning for scheduled services between New York JFK and Zagreb, Croatia, from next summer.
-We are currently monitoring the market, but no final decision will be made before mid-January, 2006, says Peter Bogovich, North American Airlines spokesman.
-We have operated charter flights to Zagreb before, but this would be our first scheduled route to Central Europe.
If the airline decides to implement the project it will operate a Boeing 767-300ER on the route.
-The Boeing 757, of which we have five, will require a fuelling stop in Northern Europe and that would not be cost efficient. The Boeing 767, of which we now have three with two more coming in by 2006, will be able to fly nonstop between the two destinations, says Mr Bogovich.
