Dec 19, 2005 (newstodate): Asiana Airlines Cargo has ambitions to start freighter operations in the Nordic market.
-For this operation we need two things - enough freight from the Nordic Region, including some kind of commitment from our customers in the Nordic Region, and enough capacity, says Lars J.T. Droog, Asiana Airlines Cargo Regional Sales Manager.
-At the moment we need to hire additional aircraft to operate our flights. In January 2006, we will take delivery of another Boeing B747-400 Freighter, and I really hope this will create some space to become online at one of the airports in the Nordic Region.
-Last year, our sales agents in the Nordic, GSANorway in Norway, ScanPartners International in Denmark & Finland, and Air Trade Support, ATS in Sweden, did a great job, and this has resulted in a bigger market share for us in the Nordic Region.
-Of course we will continue to offer this reliable service and hope we are able to expand our list of online airport soon, says Mr Droog.
In 2004, Scandinavian IATA air cargo volumes to Seoul comprised 1,745 tonnes from Sweden, 1,928 tonnes from Denmark, and 2,115 tonnes from Norway.
