Dec 21, 2005 (newstodate): According to statistics from the Finnish CAA, air cargo volumes at Helsinki Vantaa Airport continued its decrease in November.
The airport handled a total of 9,737 tonnes of cargo, down 11.9 percent, and 1,255 tonnes of mail, down 0.2 percent.
For the period January-November, the combined total was 117,057 tonnes, down 2.5 percent on last year.
The official statistics are, however, being contested by several members of the Finnish air cargo community, and a recent study on Finland's air cargo claims a sustained growth in cargo volumes at Helsinki Vantaa airport, mainly in the integrator segment.
