Dec 13, 2005 (newstodate): Serbian carrier JAT plans to launch its service to New York from May 15, 2006.
The route was originally planned to start this year already, but the launch was postponed after the downrating by FAA of Serbia's aviation safety.
According to sources, the route will be a JV with Uzbekistan Hava Yollari, operating this company's A310 aircraft on the route.
Sources say JAT is preparing to set up a new route between Belgrade and Zagreb, Croatia, to feed traffic from the Balkan region into the new Transatlantic service.
