Dec 2, 2005 (newstodate): Turkmenistan's national carrier Turkmen Airways has signed a contract with Boeing for delivery of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
A loyal Boeing-customer, Turkmen Airways now operates a fleet comprising eight Boeing 717, four B757-200, three B737-300, and one Boeing 767-300 aircraft dedicated to presidential and other state VIP purposes.
According to sources, the carrier plans to take up to 20 more Boeing aircraft to meet the recommendations by the development program for civil aviation till 2020.
