Dec 12, 2005 (newstodate): Member of the SAS Group, Finland's Blue 1 has announced plans for expanding its aircraft fleet with three ex-SAS MD-90 aircraft.
The 70 percent growth in capacity will enable the carrier to expand its route network from 14 to 25 destinations with next summer's schedules.
Blue1 will expand heavily in Europe with daily connections to destinations including London, Zurich and Warsaw but also with flights to tourist destinations in southern Europe such as Athens, Rome, Nice and Barcelona.
The carrier now operates a fleet comprising nine Avro RJ and 5 Saab 2000 aircraft.
