Dec 1, 2005 (newstodate): This year, Belgrade Airport expects cargo volumes to exceed 10,000 tonnes, with a five percent growth over last year.
-Potentials are, however, much bigger, and once we have a go-ahead for the planned construction of new cargo facilities we will prepare for a significant increase that will turn Belgrade Airport into a regional cargo hub, says Miodrag Mirkovic, Belgrade Airport manager Cargo Department, Traffic Division.
According to Mr Mirkovic, 65 percent of the current cargo volume is belly cargo on Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft, some 10 percent is all-freighter cargo, and the remaining 25 percent is trucked cargo.
