Dec 13, 2005 (newstodate): airBaltic Cargo is seeing a strong growth in volumes during 2005.
The company now foresees a total of 3,650 tonnes of cargo, flown and trucked, up 103 percent against last year's total of 1,790 tonnes.
-There are several reasons behind this growth. Not least our enhanced network and frequencies. One example is Minsk, where we have doubled our trucking frequency rather than relying on belly capacity only, says Haralds Treimanis, airBaltic Head of Other Sales, and former Head of Cargo Sales.
-Another factor is increased cooperation with our partners, and I would of course like to think that the growth is also due to increased trust from forwarders, and the efficiency of our hubs.
-Looking ahead, our new cooperation with Singapore Airlines Cargo will allow our joint customers to connect to both networks, both in import and export via several hubs. Also Singapore Airlines Cargo will get access to formerly "grey areas" - Belorus and Ukraine, generating even more traffic flow, says Mr Treimanis.
