Nov 10, 2005 (newstodate): Swissport has landed a three-year contract with Russian carrier AirBridge Cargo.
Under the contract that designates Swissport as ABC's preferred partner, the company will provide cargo handling on a global scale beyond the current strongholds at Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
The two parties have also signed an agreement to set up a JV to establish, develop and manage airfreight operations at Krasjnoyarsk that is slated to become a prime cargo hub and turntable for cargo traffic between Asia, Europe and USA.
At Amsterdam and Frankfurt, Swissport already handles "well over" 100,000 tonnes of ABC airfreight annually.
