Nov 15, 2005 (newstodate): The management of Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport is currently in Japan, lobbying Japanese airlines for the launch of an airlink to Scandinavia.
According to the airport, there is a manifest need for the Scandinavia-Japan airlink, especially targeting Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya as the most potential destinations.
With Japan ranking as its top priority, the Swedish Luftfartsverket is also keen to see route between Sweden and India, the Middle East and Southern USA.
Japan Air Lines operated from Tokyo to Copenhagen Airport till the end of the 80'ies, and SAS served Delhi, India for a short period of time in the mid-90'ies.
