Nov 4, 2005 (newstodate): The Russian state is fully behind the RRJ program that will fetch orders from Aeroflot for 30 aircraft before the end of the year.
The state will secure full financial funding, and the program will see its first RRJ aircraft in the air by 2007, and six aircraft leaving the assembly lines in the same year.
The aircraft will come in three versions, aiming at competing with more expensive western alternatives in the global marketplace.
Boeing, Ilyushin and Sukhoi have designed the Russian Regional Jet.
