Nov 9, 2005 (newstodate): In an effort to boost its non-aviation related income, Riga Airport will launch a tender this week.
The tender will comprise sale of plots to reconstruct the area currently occupied by old cargo handling facilities, inherited from Aeroflot.
The plots may be used for the construction of a hotel as well as industrial and administrative buildings, and warehouses.
So far, Spedair that has already started construction of a new warehouse, Koll, and Profi Logistics have signed land lease agreements to acquire three plots adjacent to Baltic Cargo Center that is also considering expanding its current cargo terminal.
