Nov 30, 2005 (newstodate): Russian airline Pulkovo, based at St Petersburg, will reportedly change its decision to acquire more Boeing 737 into going for Airbus A320 instead.
Sources say Pulkovo now aims at leasing six Airbus A320.
Earlier this year Pulkovo leased two Boeing 737-500 aircraft from IFLC, and later signed a lease agreement with Jetscape for another three Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The change in fleet planning reportedly reflects the pressure from Pulkovo's new partner, Rossiya, with which it is now in a merger process expected to be completed early in 2006..
Rossiya was formerly a governmental VIP air transport company, but is now being repositioned as a purely commercial company.
The merged company, Rossiya, will have an aircraft fleet totalling some 30 units.
