Nov 9, 2005 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo prefers to set up own offices at its longhaul destinations.
-We maintain the policy of setting up own offices at our longhaul destinations as this provides us with the maximum control of operations and sales results while not necessarily weighing heavily on costs, says Timo Riihimaki, Finnair Cargo VP Global Sales.
The company is thus setting up a new own office in Nagoya to serve cargo sales on its new route from June, 2006.
Nagoya will become Finnair's third destination in Japan, and its ninth in Asia.
-As for our destinations on the shorthaul and European network, we are quite happy with working through locally-based cargo GSAs, says Mr Riihimaki.
