Nov 29, 2005 (newstodate): On November 1, 2006, Finnair plans to open a new route between Helsinki and Delhi.
The route will be Scandinavia's only passenger route to India after SAS closed its operations to the destination shortly after its inauguration in 2001.
The new route will be operated thrice weekly with Finnair's MD-11 aircraft, offering a flying time of 6hrs 35 min.
In September this year Finnair launched a new route with three weekly flights to Guangzhou in China. Finnair operates to China more than twice a day and to Bangkok and Japan daily.
Earlier this year the airline announced it will open a new destination in Japan, Nagoya, in June 2006.
