Built by Turkish construction companies, Suleymaniye Airport has a 3,500 meter long, 45 meter wide runway, and has an annual capacity to serve three million passengers on international flights.
The region's other international airport is Erbil, to be served from this month by Royal Jordanian from Amman, and the Swedish company Online air Service from Stockholm.
