Nov 14, 2005 (newstodate): The Czech aviation company and maintenance provider, Job Air is seeing a market for up to ten cargo conversions of the SAAB 340 in 2006.
-Within a few weeks work will start on the conversion of our second SAAB 340, and the third will follow in December, says Jozef Hornak, Job Air general manager.
-A fourth will be converted in March, 2006, and in total I would imagine up to 10 conversions in 2006, including aircraft for Job Air as well as for 3rd party customers, he says.
-We now calculate the conversions to require between 800 and 1,000 manhours, but with growing experience by our team we will probably be able to reduce that even further.
The first converted Job Air SAAB 340 is now operating daily for DHL and other customers on a route between Rome and Tunis, Tunesia.
