Nov 18, 2005 (newstodate): Dutch company Stork Aerospace has opened Fokker Engineering Romania in Bucharest, a fully-owned Stork subsidiary.
The new Romanian company will carry out detail design engineering under the certified design organisation of Stork Fokker AESP, which will thereby be able to increase its engineering capacity on a flexible basis.
Romania was selected due to its long tradition in the aviation industry and respected educational programmes in this field.
The Stork company has been active since 2003 in Romania's Bacau region with the FOAR joint venture, in partnership with the Romanian company Aerostar, for the production of thin aluminium sheet sections.
