Nov 15, 2005 (newstodate): On December 1, 2005, a Bulgarian court will review the ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court in October that demanded reopening of negotiations with the Fraport AG/BM Star consortium and the Frenche Vinci groups that lost the tender for Bourgas and Varna Airport.
Copenhagen Airports emerged as the winner of the tender, but was put on the sideline by the court's ruling.
In the meantime, both airports are now pressing hard to find measures of coping with the lack of terminal capacity to serve the increasing volumes of passengers.
Copenhagen Airports was ready to throw in money for the expansion and modernisation of the facilities, as part of the tender requirements, but this process was delayed by the sustained uncertainty around the privatisation process.
