Nov 28, 2005 (newstodate): airBaltic has been named cargo GSA in Latvia for Singapore Airlines Cargo, and expects to fetch increasing volumes in the market.
Also Singapore Airlines Cargo will seek to benefit from using airBaltic as a spearhead into the air cargo markets of Belarus and Ukraine, where the carrier is not currently represented.
-For several years we have been trying to introduce Singapore Airlines Cargo services to the Latvian market, but the idea was always rejected, because the Latvian market was considered to be too small, says Haralds Treimanis, airBaltic Head of the Ancillary Revenue division.
-Recently, however, air-freight volumes have increased considerably, and this has paved the way for our current co-operation, he says.
