Oct 14, 2005 (newstodate): The image of the modern Russian aircraft TU-204 received a blow as Sibir Airline anounced its decision to put its two aircraft of the type up for sale.
Low efficiency is reportedly the cause for the decision.
The airline is said to have worked on phasing out the aircraft through a sell-off since last winter already, wanting instead to turn to western aircraft.
The TU-204 has so far fetched orders from carriers including Vladivostok Avia, KrasAir, and TransAero.
China has ordered two TU-204-120, and is said to take up to 18 aircraft of this type.
