OCT 04, 2005 (newstodate): October 27 is now the tentative start-up date for Singapore Airlines Cargo's latest new freighter route.
Originally slated for launch on September 22, the opening was suspended due to the strike at Boeing that delayed the delivery of the company's 15th Boeing 747-400F freighter aircraft earmarked for this new service.
The route will connect Singapore and Chicago via India and Copenhagen in both directions.
-We are still slightly hesitant about the final date as a number of jobs remain to be completed to configure the aircraft prior to its acceptance by Singapore Airline Cargo. But we are at least targetting this date for the launch flight, says Kim Irmov, Singapore Airlines Cargo regional manager Nordic and Baltic region.
