Oct 10, 2005 (newstodate): Air Slovakia would like to grow its air cargo business, but the infrastructure of Bratislava Airport currently does not facilitate this.
-We do carry cargo, but on a limited scale as Bratislava Airport lacks warehouse, storage facilitiesn and equipment for handling special cargo, says Viktor Vrablica, Air Slokavia head of operations.
-We take cargo on routes between Bratislava and Tel Aviv, and between Bratislava and India, and we also have the potential to lift cargo into the UK, but in most cases small shipments only.
-We have to wait and see what will be in the business plans for the future owners of Bratislave Airport that will be privatised by the end of this year. Air cargo is definitely attractive to us, he says.
Air Slovakia operates two Boeing 757 and one boeing 737-200 aircraft, and plans to take in a third Boieing 757 in 2006.
