Oct 11, 2005 (newstodate): A new airline alliance may surface by next year already as a number of Arab airlines strengthen their cooperation.
Tentatively to be called Arabesk, the airlines involved in talks are Egypt Air, Gulf Air, Middle East Airlines, Tunis Air, Oman Air, Yemenia, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Royal Jordanian Airlines.
The airlines hope to enhance their marketing power through the alliance.
All airlines currntly in talks are not members of any existing airline alliance, but their participation in Arabask is understood not to hinder any of them from joining other alliances as well.
