Oct 20, 2005 (newstodate): The normalisation of Iraq's airlinks with the world continues to gain momentum.
Iraq Airways is currently preparing to re-establish service on the route between Baghdad and Cairo after 16 yers' suspension.
The carrier alreay serves routes to Amman, Dubai, Istanbul and Damascus, and new routes to Beirut, Saudi Arabia, Iran and London are also in the pipeline.
Foreign airlines currently operating flights into Iraq include Royal Jordanian, while Sharjah-based Phoenix Aviation Group launched a twice-weekly service to Basra from Dubai in August.
