Oct 17, 2005 (newstodate): Launched officially on June 1, 2005, logitics provider Balti Logistika is doing well in Latvia.
-Right now we are only three people but we are fully dedicated to sales and service as we get comprehensive administrative support from our HQ in Estonia and buys additional services from local providers, says Andris Meikulans, Balti Logistica Latvia general manager.
-Our company found it imperative to be present in all three Baltic countries as foreign companies increasingly consider us one single market, he says.
-We are seeing the Latvian market rapidly expanding as the buying power here is increasing, and new companies emerge alongside many foreign companies that locate here as well.
-Imports still dominate the cargo market, but exports are growing, too, especially in industries like hi-tech and pharmaceuticals, and while remaining little noticed these new companies generate increasing volumes of shipments to the US and elsewhere says Mr Meikulans.
