Oct 10, 2005 (newstodate): Finnair is succesfully building up its third-party aircraft maintenance business with new customers.
Finnair Technical Services' first maintenance agreement customer for the Airbus A320 aircraft family, Swedish charter airline Novair is today delivering its A321 aircraft for five-day airframe maintenance, and the agreement will make future Novair airframe maintenance work possible for Finnair.
Novair operates three A321 aircraft and one A330.
Chinese airline Xinjiang Airlines has already sent the first of two ATR72 turboprop aircraft to Helsinki-Vantaa for heavy maintenance for heavy maintenance for six weeks until November 11.
A second ATR72 will arrive for similar maintenance on November 7. Xinjiang Airlines operates as total of five ATR72.
The current agreement is continuation of co-operation which began in early spring. Xinjiang Airlines' first ATR72 underwent similar maintenance in March.
Of Finnair Technical Services' over 200 million euro turnover, approximately one third comes from maintenance contracts with third-party customers.
