Oct 27, 2005 (newstodate): British Airways World Cargo is satisfied with the growth in its electronic booking volumes.
In September, e-bookings accounted for 7.5 percent of the company`s total bookings, and 33 percent of all bookings that could possibly be performed electronically in the more than 30 markets where e-bookings have so far been implemented.
In May this year BAWC reported it had reached five percent.
-The volume is roughly doubling each year, so we are quite satisfied with the penetration of e-bookings that not least driven by the forwarders, who subscribe to GF-X, says Keith Packer, BAWC Sen VP Commercial.
-The progress is indeed very much thanks to the efficiency of GF-X that is our prime electronic booking channel, he says.
