Oct 24, 2005 (newstodate): As the Hungarian state will open a new bidding round for privatisation of Budapest Airport, the number of bidders will be reduced.
As a results from Macquarie Airports' bid for the majority stake in Copenhagen Airport, the latter will resign from the tender.
Remaining bidders then include British BAA, Fraport and Deutsche Bank, Hochtief AirPort and Hochtief AirPort Capital - and Macquarie Airports.
Macquarie Airports reportedly handed in the highest bid for Budapest Airport in the tender round now suspended, and will probably raise the stakes further during the new sequence.
