Oct 20, 2005 (newstodate): The Leisure Cargo Group has named Sofia-based Airswift its cargo GSA in Bulgaria.
Leisure Group Cargo represents Air Berlin, Air Europe, Air Madrid, Belair, Eurofly, Futura, Iberworld, LTE, LTU, Neos, Niki, SkyEurope, Volare and Malaysia, with Hapagfly as its latest addition to the portfolio.
-LTU is of particular interest to us, as Germany is an important market. We can also use LTU to link with most of the other carriers' networks, as the airline operates from both Varna and Bourgas Airports to Dusseldorf, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin, says Hristina Dimitrova, Airswift general manager.
-The Far East and Central America also present excellent opportunities. Although the Far East is well-served with capacity, Leisure Cargo can offer very competitive rates. Central America meanwhile has previously had limited service options from this market, so we expect good take-up of the comprehensive Leisure Cargo tariff.
EGSAC-member Airswift also has an agreement with Bulgaria Air to use its capacity to Frankfurt, Berlin, Vienna and Amsterdam, and operates regular road feeder services to Germany.
